16 to 19
Bursary
Fund
The 16 to 19 Bursary Fund provides financial support to help students aged 16–19 continue in full-time education or training.
Who can apply?
You may be eligible if:

You are aged 16 or over but under 19 on 31 August before the start of the academic year.

You meet the residency requirements set by the Department of Education (DfE).

You are enrolled on a full-time course at our college/sixth form/Training Provider
Types of bursary available:
Vulnerable Student Bursary – up to £1,200 a year for students who are:
-
In care or a care leaver
-
Receiving Income Support or Universal Credit in your own name
-
Receiving Disability Living Allowance (or PIP) plus Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) or Universal Credit
Discretionary Bursary – to help with costs such as travel, meals, books, equipment, or essential course trips. Award amounts depend on individual circumstances and available funding.
How to apply:
Provide evidence of your household income and eligibility.
Complete our Bursary Application Form - which will be competed as part of your induction, evidence should be submitted as early as possible.
Payments:
Attendance, punctuality, and behaviour will be monitored — payments may be withheld if these are not satisfactory.
